Getting more crafty and other things from the last month

Halina made this apple pin cushion and has been knitting a scarf. The big, wooden needles made it so much easier for her to grasp knitting than the slippery thin metal ones. She wants to do all the projects in her kids sewing book and finally just finished the purse, a picture of which I'll post later. Next up, coasters.

Luke celebrated his 4 and a half birthday at school.

A cold morning at school, wearing his homemade knitted stuff.

Here we are on a field trip to the Oakland Asian Cultural Center.

Halina in her favorite climbing tree.

Valentine making.

I don't know why, but Halina got inspired to make Luke a medal. Adorably, it says "You Wan!"

Not a whole lot of snow in Truckee.

Halina would really, really, really like to have a dog.

Luke was proud of himself for coloring these robot printouts, and hung them up himself. I liked how they happened to match his shirt.

We went to see a musical with Bob Marley songs in Berkeley.

Speaking of songs, here's a shot from a short video I just discovered from the end of December. In it, Luke tells me that the song he's about to play is called "I Wish I Had a Hatchet." Then he says, "But don't video it!" So that's all there is. You just have to imagine how the song goes.
