Hmmm.... a wee bit o' writer's block creeping in. Interesting. Even with a simple thing like this blog. It may be that all the lovely feedback, while positive (thanks, guys), is making me self-conscious about my writerly performance. It may be that the couple bad habits I'm trying to break, including staying up late, have persuaded me think that I can't write without them. It may be that I am just out of shape since I've let a while go by. It may be that a bunch of little things have happened and I feel a pastiche-report building that I'm afraid will come out as a snooze-fest for everyone but me.
And it may be that so often, like now, I suddenly have a kid on my lap (that happened mid-paragraph). This particular one is saying, "Nuh-sing, mah-mmy. Nuh-sing, peese," and has a slight fever and little everywhere fingers.
Halina went to the office with Daddy this morning. This important event gave her a burst of self-sufficiency. She packed her own snack. She wanted to go shopping for a briefcase, but instead settled for one pocket of Daddy's and her wheeled suitcase. She packed her computer, of course (kid version). A doll. Some playdough, paper, oil pastels.
Luke's been saying "Lukie, too," in a small, pleading voice whenever he senses there is an activity of any interest that he's being left out of. He did so this morning watching Halina's preparations.
"Lukie," Halina said matter-of-factly, kneeling down, "Sissa is going to get her water bottle out of the other room to take to Daddy's office. But she will not leave without saying goodbye to Lukie. Okay?"
Okay. Luke and I were still in our jammies. Slackers.

Oh, that is so cute what Halina said! Love it when they get all big sisterly and nurturing, so adorable. Julia has been dragged along to her Dad's work too many times that it's not a fun thing anymore. Kind of sad, now that I think of it.
