May 2, 2020

Today Luke and I met friends at Thatcher Woods - and kept our distance, of course. The boys did a lot of plant wacking with sticks and threw things into the flooded area that looked like a lake. It was a gorgeous, warm spring day. The evening was warm, too, still and velvety, with sounds of parties up and down the street. Not real parties though. Just families. We built a fire in the outdoor pit and brought out the ukes, guitar, and harmonica. We ate sourdough carrot cake by firelight. No mosquitos yet. Earlier in the day, Chris forced opened the interior window between the butler pantry and stairs. Luke likes to perch up there now. A sort of hideout/lookout.
