I'd written a paragraph about how it was perfect, dreamy weather today but being outside was a mixed bag. There were a lot of people out and about, which I love, but also some tension among people. Mask-shaming and cursing accounts of racism with young kids in tow. I'd written that Luke is worrying lately, about people getting too close and Cinnamon getting hit by a car and someone breaking into our house. How he sleeps at the foot of our bed in his own little bed and is snug there. How tonight I hummed a lullaby that my mom wrote long ago and he recognized it and hugged me back along to the rhythm in the dark. He always says 'Sleep tight' when I leave the room. I wrote all that and Blogger mysteriously erased it and so here I am writing it again. It was Halina listening to me with kindness that gave me the energy to do it.
